24x30” Ink and acrylic gouache on panel

A depiction of the amorous Zeus of ancient myth. The king of the gods was known to transform himself into various animals and descend from the heavens to couple with mortals. This work was chosen for display in the 2022 Mayor’s Pride Exhibit in Atlanta. I was honored to speak about my work in the show with a local reporter, who excitedly exclaimed on air that an artist had depicted “a queer god at city hall.” Somehow the surrounding Bible Belt residents were unphased, and no complaints were issued in regards to this otherwise innocent painting.
